about

“Inspired by the experience of feeling lost and isolated, as though you are wandering around in a no man’s land, wondering how you got there, and how to find your way out of a euphoric loss of perspective and that just maybe, this is actually the best place to be and feel” - Pirra Bass Guitarist, Curtis Argent.

Pirra are returning with their fourth single 'No Mans Land' on 27th November - an upbeat, fun, buoyant indie electronic groove that continues the Aussie quartet's meteoric rise especially in their native Australia.

Coming off the back of 'Limousine Lies' (produced by Konstantin Kersting from Tones and I 'Dance Monkey'), which was released in September and has since then achieved critical acclaim from key tastemakers across Triple J including Stacy Gougoulis who described the record as "slick and
polished" with "rewarding and warm hooks" and Declan Byrne who describes the experience as "surrounding sound beauty as if I'm floating through a dreamland". 'Limousine Lies' earned the band's very first official NME feature, a spot play on Triple J's 'Home and Hosed' as well as 17 spins on Triple J unearthed and still counting.

Just a few weeks after, electronica legends Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas, whose repertoire spans from renowned remixes of LCD Soundsystem to Shep Pettibone, introduced a stunning redo of 'Limousine Lies', reminiscent of 80's synth-wave and demonstrates the best of the two electronic icons. So far boasting nearly 600 international radio spins and nearly 50,000 Spotify streams since it's release on 16th October, Pirra are in full stead with their fourth single via BLK&WHT.

The perfect follow-up to 'Under The Skyline', 'The Peak' and 'Limousine Lies', the band continue their euphoric rise with 'No Mans Land'.

lyrics

We hear it calling
It’s symphonic, it’s symphonic
And when we’re on it
It’s the tonic, it’s the tonic
And you’ve been waiting for how long now
It’s ironic, it’s ironic
To ask yourself
If you want it, if you want it

I’ll pick you up when you’re down
I know we’ll find a way somehow when
All the lights have gone out
I’ll come running every time,
When I hear you go
Ooh ooh ooh
I can’t see to find my feet
I don’t know what I’m looking
Looking for

We keep on falling
Keep on falling
Out from nowhere
In to no man's land
Keep on talking
When there’s no one home
Keep on falling
Keep on falling

And we hear you go
Ooh ooh ooh
And we hear you go
Ooh ooh ooh

We hear it calling
It’s symphonic, it’s symphonic
And when we’re on it
It’s the tonic, it’s the tonic

I can’t see to find my feet
I don’t know what I’m looking
Looking for, looking for

We keep on falling
Keep on falling
Out from nowhere
In to no man's land
Keep on talking
When there’s no one home
Keep on falling
Keep on falling
